How the visit goes
- Run the zoneWe turn the zone on and watch it. A head that is cracked, sunk, clogged, or spraying the sidewalk tells us what it needs in about a minute.
- Match the partSprays, rotors, and drip all take different heads. We carry the common Hunter and Rain Bird bodies and nozzles on the truck so most swaps happen on the spot.
- Swap and set heightThe old head comes out, the new one goes in on a fresh riser if the old one is brittle, and we set it flush so the mower does not take it out again.
- Dial in the sprayArc and radius get adjusted so water lands on grass, not on the driveway or the neighbor's fence.
- Test the whole zoneWe run the zone again and check coverage head to head before we call it done.
Sprinkler Head Replacement questions
How much does it cost to replace a sprinkler head?
A single head starts at $55 installed. If you have several that need attention, the per-head price drops to $50 each for three or more and $45 each for five or more. We count them with you on-site and confirm the total before we touch anything.
Why do sprinkler heads in North Texas keep breaking?
Blackland clay swells when it rains and shrinks when it dries, so the ground literally moves under the heads. Add a mower deck catching a head that has lifted a half inch and you get cracked bodies and snapped risers. We reset height when we replace a head so it is less likely to happen again.
Can you just fix the head instead of replacing it?
Sometimes. A clogged nozzle or a stuck filter screen can be cleaned in a few minutes and we will tell you when that is all it needs. A cracked body or a worn seal is not worth patching, so we replace those.
Do you use the same brand I already have?
We match the type of head to the zone so the spray pattern stays even. We install commercial-grade Hunter and Rain Bird parts, not big-box-store heads, and we will tell you which one is going in.
My head pops up but barely sprays. Is that the head?
Often it is a clogged nozzle or a low-pressure zone with too many heads, and sometimes it is a leak upstream. We check pressure and coverage on the whole zone so we fix the actual cause rather than swapping a head that was fine.
Is there a warranty on a replaced head?
Yes. Our labor is covered for 90 days, and the manufacturer's warranty on the head itself passes through to you.
