Sprinkler Valve Replacement

Starting at $250 per valve

A single valve typically runs $250 to $350 and two valves $400 to $550. A full manifold rebuild is priced on-site after we open the box.

A zone that runs all night or never comes on at all almost always points to the valve. We find the box, swap the valve, and put the lawn back the way we found it.

  • Valve box located, even when it is buried
  • Failed valve body removed and replaced
  • New fittings, slip or threaded to match
  • Zone wiring reconnected and tested
  • Controller reprogrammed if the fix needs it

Warranty: 90 days on our labor and a 2 year manufacturer warranty on the valve body.

  • Upfront pricing
  • Written warranty
  • Photo of every fix
  • Fixed next day

How the visit goes

  1. Find the boxValve boxes in older yards sink under sod and mulch. We use the controller, a multimeter, and a locator so we dig once, in the right spot.
  2. Confirm the failureA valve stuck open, a torn diaphragm, or a dead solenoid each look a little different. We check before we cut so you are not paying for a part you did not need.
  3. Replace the valveThe old body comes out and a new Rain Bird or Hunter valve goes in with fresh fittings, glued and cured properly rather than rushed.
  4. Rewire and testWires get waterproof connectors, then we run the zone from the controller to confirm it opens, holds pressure, and closes cleanly.
  5. Backfill and tidyThe box is set level with the grade and the turf goes back so you would not know we were there.

Sprinkler Valve Replacement questions

How do I know the valve is the problem?

If one zone runs when the controller is off, or one zone never turns on while the others work fine, the valve is the usual suspect. If several zones misbehave at once, it is more likely the controller or a wiring issue, and we check that first.

How much does a sprinkler valve replacement cost?

Most single-valve jobs land between $250 and $350 installed, and two valves together run $400 to $550. If the whole manifold is cracked or leaking, we price the rebuild on-site once we can see it. Either way you get the number before we start.

Why did my valve fail?

In North Texas the big culprits are grit in the water wearing out the diaphragm, freeze damage to the plastic body, and roots or shifting clay putting stress on the manifold. Age matters too; most residential valves are tired after ten to fifteen years.

Can you find a valve box that is completely buried?

Yes. That is a normal part of the job here. We trace it from the controller wiring and use a locator, and we add about half an hour to the estimate if the box has to be found first.

Will you have to tear up my lawn?

We open a small area around the box, not a trench across the yard. Once the valve is in, the sod goes back and it fills in within a couple of weeks.

What if you find a second leaking valve while you are in there?

We show it to you and price it before doing anything. Adjacent valve problems are common in an aging manifold, and you decide whether to fix it now while the box is open or leave it for later.
